PORTLAND, Ore. -- A group hoping to keep Kyron Horman's case from going cold gathered outside the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Thursday afternoon.

In a Facebook post, the group "Kyron Horman's World Soldiers" said they want to "keep the gathering respectful."

Kyron was last seen June 4, 2010 at Skyline Elementary School in Northwest Portland. The 7-year-old was at a pre-class science fair, where he was photographed, but then disappeared.

Terri Horman, his stepmother, was the last person to see Kyron that day.

Capt. Steve Alexander with Multnomah County Sheriff's Office released the following statement Thursday regarding the search for Kyron:

Thank you for the information on the gathering today. The Kyron Horman investigation remains an active ongoing criminal investigation. Investigators are actively continuing work on leads and tips in the investigation and will continue to do so. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information about the case to please call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at (503) 261-2847.
