Republican Knute Buehler received another major endorsement in the race for Oregon governor, with the Portland Tribune announcing its endorsement of his campaign, saying he is the only choice to break one-party rule in Salem and praising his “impressive grasp of policy, particularly when it comes to the all-important issue of health care.”
Under incumbent Governor Kate Brown, “Oregon hasn’t moved forward on what should have been more urgent priorities,” like education, the pension crisis and struggling rural communities.
To solve these problems, the Portland Tribune writes that, “voters should instead elect Republican Rep. Knute Buehler as the next governor. Buehler has the potential to break the one-party inertia in Salem and use the natural tension that would arise from divided government to move forward on difficult issues.”
