Knute Buehler, the GOP nomination for Governor in the 2018 election, donated $5,000 to a political action committee supporting the Republican senators who walked out on the legislative session.
In a tweet, Buehler explained why he donated to the Stand with our Senators PAC, which was created June 20.
Noted on the site is the PAC can accept an unlimited amount of money from people and corporations, and since all donations can be tracked, it's legal for the senators to use in any way. What they can't do is draw money from a GoFundMe account that raised about $30,000 in 24 hours. Those donations can't be tracked through ORESTAR, the Oregon Secretary of State's campaign finance accounting system.
