PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Governor Kate Brown released the state and county coronavirus metrics that must be met before students can return to traditional classrooms this coming school year.
A group of educators, called Oregon For A Safe Return To Campus, say her metrics don't go far enough when it comes to addressing COVID-19 concerns.
“I think it's real important to realize that we're gambling with children’s lives and we're gambling with educators lives when we try to reopen schools before we control the virus," said Ian Maurer of Oregon For A Safe Return To Campus.
