Portland now state’s worst job growth area

Of all the six major economic regions in Oregon, the worst performing in job growth has been the Portland area according to the Employment Department. This gauged by over-the-year employment change by region metrics.

Portland was leading job growth until the riots and homeless explosion.  It appears that the chaos has driven jobs to the other areas in the state as people flee the Portland riot and homeless crisis zone.

This is happening even as 13 counties were ranked higher risk counties and under tighter business shutdown restrictions than Portland.
