Commission to get briefing on future of Portland's elk statue

PORTLAND, Ore. — On Monday, we could learn more about what will happen to the historic elk statue removed from downtown Portland.

The 120-year-old statue was moved last year after protesters lit a fire underneath it.

Since then, it's been in storage.

On Monday, the Historic Landmarks Commission is expected to hear a briefing on the statue and discuss how it could be replaced or relocated.
